As the summer heat and humidity begin to settle in for the season, the Philadelphia Department of Parks and Recreation has released a schedule for the opening of the city's 75 public pools, which will take place between Wednesday, June 22 and Friday, July 1.
To officially mark the beginning of the 2016 season, Mayor Kenney will be joined Wednesday at the Max Myers Playground pool by Parks and Recreation Commissioner Kathryn Ott Lovell, Managing Director Michael DiBerardinis and Councilwoman Maria Quiñones-Sánchez.
Those looking to take a dip after 4:45 p.m. Wednesday can find the pool at 1601 Hellerman Street in Northeast Philadelphia.
A full calendar of openings can be found here. All dates are subject to change.
