CloudMine raises $5M in capital investment

The first round of venture capital investment was a success for the Philly company

CloudMIne plans to hire 15 more staffers by the end of 2015.

Center City enterprise mobility company CloudMine raised $5 million in its first significant round of venture capital investment.

The company will use the new funds to "enrich its product and expand marketing and sales functions," the Philadelphia Business Journal reported. It provides a cloud service for the operation of mobile apps and website. 

The company is the brainchild of Marc Well, Brendan McCorkle and Ilya Braude. Well and McCorkle met at Startup Weekend Philadelphia and McCorkle met Braude at a Philly Startup Leaders happy hour in 2012.

CloudMine employs 16 people in Philadelphia, Boston and San Francisco. The company plans to add 15 more hires by the end of the year.

Among the company's investors are: Safeguard Scientifics, MentorTech Ventures, DreamIt Ventures, DeSimone Group Investments, Ben Franklin Technology Partners, Mid-Atlantic Angel Group and Robin Hood Ventures.
