Police: Suspect arrested in fatal stabbing on Baltimore Avenue

After a violent Tuesday in Philadelphia that left six people dead, police announced the arrest of a suspect in the fatal stabbing that occurred Tuesday afternoon at a Cricket Mobile store in West Philadelphia.

According to authorities, the incident occurred at approximately 2:25 p.m. at the store located on the 5600 block of Baltimore Avenue. Officers from the 18th District received a radio call for a report of a stabbing and located three victims suffering from injuries in the area. 

Police said the suspect entered Cricket Wireless and stabbed a man in the chest while he was paying his bill. The suspect allegedly then climbed into the vehicle of another victim, stabbing the driver in each hand before moving onto a local mechanic shop to attack a third victim. 

A 30-year-old male victim, identified as Nathan Ackison, sustained a stab wound to the chest at the mechanic shop and was rushed to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 2:59 p.m. The wwo other stabbing victims, a 31-year-old man and a 50-year-old man, were treated at Mercy Hospital for lacerations to their hands and arms. They were listed in stable condition.

Witnesses at the scene of the stabbing directed police to the area of 58th Street and Baltimore Avenue, where the officers found and arrested a suspect later identified as 55-year-old Ronald Stanley. A weapon was also recovered at the scene.

Stanley is charged with one count of murder and two counts of criminal homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault, and related charges.
