After the Eagles released Connor Barwin in a money-saving move, they were left with a gaping hole at defensive end. Long will turn 32 on Tuesday, and should provide defensive line depth. He is more of a traditional 4-3 defensive end than Barwin, although like Barwin, Long's career is in its waning stages.

No, Andy Reid isn't the coach of the Philadelphia Eagles anymore, and he doesn't make decisions for them presently. However, if you haven't noticed, the Eagles have made efforts in many ways to get back to the way things were run when he was the guy in charge.
