With Christmas falling on a Sunday this year, the NFL decided to move the vast majority of their games to Saturday, on Christmas Eve. The Eagles' essentially season is over, obviously, but there are still plenty of games to be played around the rest of the league over the last two weeks that will decide who's in and out of the playoffs.

In his day-after press conference, Doug Pederson revealed that Ryan Mathews has a C6 and C7 herniated disk, which means that Mathews' season is over. Pederson said that Mathews suffered the injury on the third down play in which Mathews was tackled a foot or two shy of the goal Line. Mathews stayed in the game and was stopped again on fourth down.

The Eagles are no long practically eliminated from playoff contention. After their loss to the Ravens last Sunday, they are now mathematically eliminated, and still have two games to play. If you bought tickets to this game hoping it would mean something, well, at least you can watch Carson Wentz instead of Sam Bradford.
