Thursday Night Football open thread: Chip edition

Tonight's Thursday Night Football matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the Arizona Cardinals is of modest interest to Philadelphia Eagles fans, as it will of course feature old friend Chip Kelly. Eagles rookie OT Halapoulivaati Vaitai will get a shot to start at RT

If and when Lane Johnson is suspended 10 games for his second offense for violating the NFL's policy on performance enhancing drugs, the Eagles' original plan was for LG Allen Barbre to move over to RT, with free agent acquisition Stefen Wisniewski filling in at LG. A new possible solution could be to just plug in rookie Halapoulivaati Vaitai directly at RT.

There are still no obituaries. Let's get right to it.

Eagles notes: Roseman got more than Birds hoped for Bradford, NFC East rivals survive

Back in August, in a world where Carson Wentz was not yet the best quarterback in the history of this or any other Universe, the Eagles still employed old friend Sam Bradford, who was likely little more than a one-year bridge quarterback with a near-zero percent chance to be on the roster in 2017.
