Toddler struck, killed by SEPTA vehicle in South Philly

A SEPTA paratransit vehicle struck and killed a young boy in South Philadelphia Monday evening, according to multiple reports. 

6 ABC reports that the incident occurred around 5:15 p.m. on the 1700 block of South 21st Street. 

NBC Philadelphia reports that the boy was 2-years-old.

He was rushed to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia where he was pronounced dead around 6 p.m.

The child has been identified as Muhammad Sylla by his family, according to 6 ABC.

Police are investigating the incident.
