Penn State football coach James Franklin poses for a picture with Flavor Flav.

The Penn State men's basketball team took on Purdue Saturday in what otherwise wouldn't have been a rather mundane BIG 10 game. That all changed when a certain clock-wearing hype-man-slash-former-reality-TV-star decided to drop by and root on the Nittany Lions.

That's right, Flavor Flav made the trip to State College to check out some afternoon hoops, and even posed for a photo with football coach James Franklin.

"YeeeaaaaahhhhBoooy!" indeed.

But why was the former Public Enemy member at the Bryce Jordan Center cheering on the 12-6 Nittany Lions?

So there you have it. It's a family thing.

A day after Joe Paterno was placed back atop the list of winningest college football coaches (thanks to a settlement between the NCAA and the university), students and fans found out they had quite a celebrity fan.

Even though they lost to Perdue, still not a bad weekend in Happy Valley.
