Kim Jones was murdered on January 13th, 2015.
Child advocate Kim Jones was fatally shot, execution-style, as she waiting for a bus near Temple University's main campus on Tuesday morning, the Daily News reports.
Jones, 56, a program director for Turning Points for Children's Families and Schools Together Program, was shot in the back of the head while waiting to catch the 9:15 a.m. SEPTA bus at 12th and Jefferson streets. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
A male shooter ran from the scene and remains on the loose, CBS Philly reports.
According to investigators, the suspect is described as a heavy-set black male dressed in all black and carrying duffel bag. He was last seen heading westbound on Jefferson Street.
None of Jones' personal property was stolen. Homicide Capt. James Clark said the shooter is likely someone who knows her personally, the Daily News reports.
"Someone knew her routine, knew she waited for the bus and waited for her," Clark said. "For whatever reason, she was targeted."
The shooting remains under investigation. Any individuals with tips should contact police.
Tipsters should contact the Homicide Unit at 215-686-3334, the police tip line at 215-686-8477, text a tip to PPD TIP (773847) or email tips@phillypolice.com. A $20,000 reward is offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in any city homicide.
