The team behind Zavino and Tredici Enoteca are planning a brand new restaurant, dubbed The Refectory, which will open on the Villanova University campus later this year.

Zavino Hospitality Group, which first expanded to the Main Line last year with the Bryn Mawr location of Tredici Enoteca, announced the new concept will serve as the university's first on-campus restaurant, yet service is not limited to Villanova students and staff.

The opening will coincide with Villanova's new residence hall, The Commons, which is part of a $300 million development project for the campus. The Refectory will be adjacent to The Commons and the school's upcoming Performing Arts Center, scheduled to open in early 2020.

The restaurant, which will be owned by Villanova, plans to serve "elevated American classics" in a relaxed setting.

“The quality of the food will be matched only by the attention to detail from both our front-of-house and kitchen staffs,” ZHG's Greg Dodge said in a statement.

“We designed this restaurant with students, alumni, faculty, families and neighbors in mind, as a place where they all can gather and linger over a great meal and delicious drink.”

Some restaurant features we can expect include an 18-seat horseshoe bar, marble countertops, and captain's chairs. There will also be a vault room for private parties. The dining room will seat about 200.

Zavino and Villanova also will be partnering with Parliament Espresso & Coffee Bar, which currently has a downtown location near City Hall. Plans are underway for a fast-casual cafe adjacent to the new construction.

The Refectory is expected to open this August.
