Police allege Allentown man punched, bit 1-year-old

Police say an Allentown man punched and bit the 1-year-old child of his then-girlfriend, causing multiple rib fractures and bruises late last year, WFMZ News 69 reports.

On Tuesday, 32-year-old Israel Lopez-Carmona was charged with single felony counts of child endangerment and aggravated assault and a misdemeanor charge of simple assault.

The child's mother, 27-year-old Jennifer Mosko, was charged with a single felony count of child endangerment.

Both were arraigned by District Judge Donna Butler and sent to Lehigh County Jail after they each failed to post $200,000 bail.

Preliminary hearings are tentatively set for Feb. 16.

There is no immediate word on whether the two are still in a relationship.

According to court documents obtained by WFMZ, the mother allegedly admitted witnessing the reported incidents. She also allegedly attempted to help Lopez-Carmona hide the physical marks on the child, the court documents claim.

Police said that at the time of the allegations, Lopez-Carmona and Mosko had been together for no more than four months and lived with the child on the first block of E. Susquehanna St.
