The government of Atlantic City may be teetering on the brink of financial insolvency, but the resilient Borgata Hotel and Casino just keeps powering ahead full steam.

On Tuesday, the casino announced that starting July 1, it will open up its highly anticipated beer garden, outdoor pool and Marketplace Eatery in the Marina District.

"With the launch of Borgata Beer Garden & Outdoor Pool, we are thrilled to present our hotel guests with an excellent outdoor amenity, offered seven days a week, that effectively reinforces the resort as the summer destination in Atlantic City," said Joe Lupo, Senior Vice President of Operations for Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. "Furthermore, the evolution of The Cafeteria into the upscale Marketplace Eatery supports Borgata's commitment to provide the most diverse and innovative culinary experiences in the region."

The flashy enhancements were announced in January as part of a $50 million plan to continue the "constant reinvention" of Borgata as one of its core business principles.

The beer garden, open daily to the public, will feature a full-service canopied bar serving more than 15 craft and domestic beers. Live musical acts will perform on an entertainment stage every Friday through Sunday while guests are free to enjoy a variety of lawn games and activities. Other regular events will include "Beer N Bites Happy Hour," "Pig Roast Thursdays" and "Sunday Scotch and Cigars."

The outdoor pool, housed in a 3,200-square-foot complex, features a Roman-style design and more than 400 chaise lounges, daybeds and cabanas.

At the Marketplace Eatery, planned in partnership with restaurateur and real estate developer George Siganos, guests will find a casual dining experience reminiscent of a European bazaar. Options will include Philly-style fare and a wide range of cuisines as well as pop-up stations for fresh breads, cheeses, fruits, spices and oils.

All of the new guest amenities will be introduced in conjunction with the casino's plans to add 25,000 square feet of conference space for meetings and conventions and a 7,000-square-foot ballroom.
