The Flyers got the backup goalie that they needed in free agency.
Ron Hextall and the front office signed Michael Neuvirth, last of the New York Islanders, to a two-year deal. He'll likely serve as Steve Mason's backup. Here are the contract details from ESPN's Pierre LeBrun:
Flyers have signed goalie Michal Neuvirth to two-year deal, $1.5 M in Year 1 and $1.75 million in Year 2

After playing much of last season with the tanking Buffalo Sabres (the Sixers ain't got nothing on them), Neuvirth played well in a tough situation. In 26 games with the Sabres, he had a .918 save percentage and 2.99 goals against average. In parts of seven seasons in the NHL, Neuvirth has a career record of 66-63-17 to go along with seven shutouts and a 2.73 GAA and .912 save percentage.
