Activities Arts & Crafts
Painting With A Twist Painting With A Twist/for PhillyVoice

Painting With A Twist puts a paintbrush in your left hand and a glass of Pinot in the other. Just try not to mix them up!

Once upon a time, your handmade Crayola-crayon and-construction-paper stick figure family portraits covered your parents' refrigerator.

But somewhere along the line, (who knows why) you grew up, got a job and hid from visitors got rid of your box of Crayola crayons along with your favorite stuffed teddy.

Well, let's return to the carefree days of yesteryear, grownups, and break out the glitter and glue sticks.

Below are four local businesses that focus on bringing homemade art-making back into the lives of adults.

'En Plein Air' is just a fancy and French way to say paint whatever you see before you while out in the elements.  Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts' plein air painter Joe Sweeney leds a painting retreat in Cape May, New Jersey.

The next course is being held Sept. 17-20.

Some people say they can't dance. Then you give them alcohol and they're doing the Hokey Pokey to the tune of the Macarena. Well, same goes for art and alcohol, it seems. Give a person a glass of Merlot and they may just turn into the next Monet. Or so they will think.
