Here's how your band can perform at the 2017 Firefly Music Festival

Among those performing at the 2017 Firefly Music Festival are Weezer, The Shins, Kesha and... you?

Organizers for the event said Friday they've got one more slot open to fill their lineup of more than 135 bands and artists, and they want local talent to fill it.

In order to enter, an artist will have to come from one of seven states (plus Washington D.C.) considered "regional": Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland, New York, Connecticut and Virginia.

The festival is held annually in Dover, Delaware, and this year takes place from June 15-18.

Applications will be accepted until April 8, and artists will go through a series of rounds to determine a winner.

First, online voting will take place from April 9-15 to help narrow down the top 25. Voting does matter, but isn't the only factor in determining the 25, presumably to prevent a Boaty McBoatface situation.

After the top 25 are chosen, voting reopens on April 19 and continues until the top 10 are picked. After the field is narrowed to 10, voting again continues until May 1, when the top 5 will be announced.

Those five finalists will play a showcase in front of a panel of judges on June 2 at West Philly's Live! At William Street Common.

The winner then gets a gig at one of the country's biggest music festivals.
