Philadelphia fire hydrant glows in Klip Collective's light projections.
Klip Collective, the Philadelphia-based experiential art shop, dazzled residents across the region last year when it displayed its signature light projections in a series of installations at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square. The group also drew attention for its colorful magic at Spruce Street Harbor Park, possessing many eyeballs both in person and on social media.
The studio's immersive visual effects have served a long list of institutions, corporate sponsors and cultural partners since the collective was launched in 2003 by photographer Pier Nicola DʼAmico and video artist Ricardo Rivera. In their latest project, a partnership with the Kimmel Center's Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts (PIFA), Klip Collective takes its psychedelic inclinations to another level.
Celebrating the arts in Philadelphia as a whole, the group produced a video featuring everyday objects around the city beamed with their illuminating visuals.
"This city is a concrete abstraction," a female voice declares over a series of bright, blurry and rippling urban scenes, "culture emerging from its cracks."
According to Technical.ly Philly, the video is currently being shown in taxis, on SEPTA trains and in other locations across Philadelphia.
