There is such a thing as “too cute,” but L.A./Ottawa act Peach Kelli Pop — despite its totes adorbs name/melodies/aesthetic — has managed to toe the line without tipping over. Allie Hanlon, the band’s singer, songwriter, guitarist and only constant from one album to the next, has a skill for crafting catchy choruses around her high and breezy vocals. The band's latest record, "PKP III" (on the Burger label), is a whip-smart lineup of upbeat, crushworthy, sorta-punky tunes that make you think of Best Coast for a second before you decided to file them in the same puffy-painted Trapper Keeper that holds The No-No’s, All-Girl Summer Fun Band and other feel-great rock groups.
