A Penn State University senior died this past weekend after falling off a balcony in Seville, Spain, where she was studying abroad.

According to Onward State, an independent, student-run Penn State news site, Lauren Bajorek had just completed an eight-week summer internship program and was preparing to return home to the United States.

Bajorek, a finance major with a double minor in Spanish and music performance set to graduate in Spring 2016, described herself as a “dedicated, vibrant, and passionate college student from York, Pennsylvania” on her LinkedIn.

Authorities in Seville are investigating the cause of death, but it appears to have been accidental, Onward State said. Additional information will be made available by the U.S. Embassy in Spain as the investigation continues.
