Jerome Williams (3-3) allowed three runs — two earned — in five innings and seven hits to snap a two-game losing streak. Jonathan Papelbon pitched a 1-2-3 ninth for his ninth save.

Rookie Yasmany Tomas hit his first major league homer, and Paul Goldschmidt had a two-run homer for Arizona, which has lost four of five.
