Though the whole region is bracing for a potentially “crippling” snowstorm this weekend, that doesn’t mean you have to stay cooped up for three nights straight. Thankfully, it’s a busy few nights for music in Philly, which means there will at least be some warm dance floors waiting for you while the sky falls.
Check out our rundown of the area’s concerts and events this weekend below.
One of Philly’s newest venues, The Fillmore, continues its hot streak tonight with a Jump-curated concert in the space’s internal club, The Foundry. Vacationer headlines the bill, while local shoegazers Weekender and South Philly’s Queen of Jeans occupy the opening sets.

Doors 8 p.m.; $3 with registration
Lame-O Records puts on its penultimate January “Rock Residency” show tonight at Boot & Saddle with performances from Hurry, Loose Tooth and Cherry. Hurry is a three-piece band led by Matt Scottoline whose debut was released in 2014. Loose Tooth, meanwhile, released its first full-length last spring in the form of "Easy Easy East," and Cherry, a newer band, is working toward an EP called "Gloom."
The first two Thursday night Lame-O shows at Boot & Saddle showcased Lithuania and Three Man Cannon.

Roger Sellers doesn’t think of himself as a deejay as much as a “minimalist composer.” Sellers has just shared his official debut single under the name Bayonne and is currently planning the March release of an album called "Primitives." The Austin native is joined by Philly’s own Kate Faust and the psych-pop trio Museyroom.

The incomparable Soul Brother #1, Pete Rock himself, is in town this Friday. The Flygirrl-promoted show goes down at Silk City with support from Lil' Dave of illVibe Collective in the form of an opening set. Rock closed out 2015 strong with a surprise appearance alongside Kurupt on a freestyle released by Dr. Dre. While his rapping has always been his quiet triple-threat talent, it’s his production that built his name. In June, Rock released the single of his legendary "Petestrumentals" album with another long-form beat tape. Catch Pete Rock on the decks at Silk City on Friday for a rare Philly show.
Show 9 p.m-2 a.m.; $10 until midnight, $12 after midnight
Alessia Cara’s “Here” has offered the 19-year-old Canadian singer an extended breakout. After conquering the Internet with the song — her first single — and its matching video, the track is now climbing the radio charts. (Still on the rise, “Here” was the third most played song on U.S. airwaves last week.) The debut album that followed, "Know-It-All," has been a quieter success, but it’s still more proof that Cara is a star. Currently on tour, Cara stops by the TLA on Saturday with support from Kevin Garrett and Craig Stickland.

DJ Emynd and Bo Bliz’s themed “It’s the Year” party returns to Johnny Brenda’s this Saturday. You can expect to hear tracks like “Hot in Herre,” “Foolish,” “What’s Luv?” and “U Got It Bad” for this 2002-minded blowout. The deejay sets will run late with Reef the Lost Cauze tagging along for hosting duties.

In November, Mark Lanky released a short live recording of his performance that month at Ortlieb’s. It’s sparse: One guitar strums, another picks out simple melodies. The most lasting impression is left by Lanky’s deep voice and sorrowful lyrics. The songs are stripped-down, traditional country, and on Saturday, he repeats that Orlieb’s experience for a free show at the Northern Liberties bar.

Show 8 p.m.; Free
The first-ever edition of Keep It Deep Philadelphia! kicks off at The Barbary this weekend with a stacked lineup of deejays helmed by Kevin Yost. Yost, a renowned house deejay and remixer, is joined by D.C.’s Andrew Grant at the venue’s main room.
Meanwhile, upstairs, Philly/NYC resident Jay Hill and DJ Everyday will keep things moving with their own sets.

Nashville rockers Those Darlins announced their impending breakup last month, but they’ve committed to one final tour before calling it quits. On Sunday, the trio arrives at Boot & Saddle for their fifth-to-last show ever (and final in the Northeast). The band’s last album, "Blur the Line," was released in 2014.
