Police investigating KKK recruitment fliers in South Jersey town

Authorities in Maple Shade, New Jersey are searching for the source of Ku Klux Klan recruitment fliers that were left at three homes and a closed business on Sunday morning.

According to police, a local resident reported finding one of the fliers at a home on South Boulevard Avenue around 11:45 a.m., NBC10 reports. When officers searched the rest of the neighborhood, they discovered three other fliers in the vicinity.

Messages on the fliers included appeals to "love your own race," "stop homosexuality and race mixing," and "join the Klan today."

A phone number on the fliers comes from an area code in North Carolina. Investigators suggested the distributor of the fliers was likely unfamiliar with Maple Shade because of the flier placed at a shuttered business.

Maple Shade Police are advising anyone with information about the fliers to contact them at 856-779-7111.
