Eagles-Chiefs injury report, with analysis

The Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs released their official injury reports for Sunday's game in K.C. The Eagles are mostly healthy, but certainly didn't come out of Week 1 unscathed. The Chiefs, meanwhile, lost an elite player for the season last week.

Eagles RB Donnel Pumphrey has a torn hamstring

In his Friday press conference, Doug Pederson revealed that rookie running back Donnel Pumphrey tore his hamstring in practice on Wednesday, and he will miss a "significant" amount of time. Pederson did not give any exact timetables.

Eagles notes: Lane Johnson looks for better outcome vs. Justin Houston than when he was a rookie

In the Philadelphia Eagles loss to the Kansas City Chiefs back in 2013, Chiefs edge rusher Justin Houston wrecked the game. On the night, Houston had 7 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 3 batted passes, a forced fumble, 2 fumble recoveries, and 5 total hits on the quarterback. It was something of a "Welcome to the NFL" moment for Lane Johnson, a rookie at the time who took the brunt of Houston's abuse.

Report: Eagles sign a kicker

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Philadelphia Eagles have signed rookie kicker Jake Elliott, who was a fifth round draft pick of the Cincinnati Bengals out of Memphis in 2017.
