Week 6 NFL picks

For the gambling degenerates, here are my Week 6 NFL picks. To note, the helmets indicate who I think will win the game, not cover the spread. At the end of the picks, I'll note a few teams that I like based on the spread.

Eagles power ranking roundup: Birds tumble

As we know, power rankings are kind of pointless, but we click them anyway. Here's a roundup of where the Eagles "rank" a week after their first loss of the season to the Detroit Lions.

Mychal Kendricks was a disaster against the Lions, with gifs and stuff

Against the Detroit Lions this past Sunday, Kendricks was a hot mess. In total, he was on the field for 26 snaps, three of which were kneel downs. It just felt like a lot more than that because he had so many bad moments.

Pederson: Ryan Mathews' fumble should have been a dead ball out of bounds

Sunday afternoon in Detroit, running back Ryan Mathews made a devastating and inexcusable mistake when he fumbled the ball with the Eagles leading by two points with under three minutes left in the game. If there is one thing you cannot do as a runner in that situation, it is fumbling the football. The Lions were gifted great field position, and they capitalized on it by hitting a lead-changing field goal that ended up being the difference in the game.

Film breakdown: Eagles-Lions officials could have called five different penalties on 'No. 98'

Remember when the officials called #98 for being illegally downfield near the end of the second quarter of the Eagles-Lions game on Sunday, and then they just didn't enforce it, without making any sort of announcement? Yeah, there was a good reason for that.

Recap/open thread: Eagles lose first game of season

The Philadelphia Eagles will take on the Lions in Detroit today, where they were absolutely obliterated last year on Thanksgiving. The Birds are playing far better than they were this time last year, and will face a Lions team that has been ravaged by injuries to key players.

Eagles-Lions Week 5 inactives, with analysis

As we noted earlier this week, with the Philadelphia Eagles coming off their super-early bye week, the Birds enter their Week 5 game in Detroit against the Lions with just one injury to report. That was Bennie Logan, who will play with a calf injury. The Lions, on the other hand, come into this matchup very banged up.
