Chase Daniel's shaky preseason performances didn't do much to lower the eyebrows of skeptics who wondered why the Eagles paid him the way they did. If the Eagles paid Daniel essentially like the best backup quarterback in the league because they though he was the best backup quarterback, skill-wise, that was a mistake. However, the intangibles that Daniel brings to the table may make him worth the investment, solely for his influence on rookie Carson Wentz.

Eagles rookie OT Halapoulivaati Vaitai will get a shot to start at RT

If and when Lane Johnson is suspended 10 games for his second offense for violating the NFL's policy on performance enhancing drugs, the Eagles' original plan was for LG Allen Barbre to move over to RT, with free agent acquisition Stefen Wisniewski filling in at LG. A new possible solution could be to just plug in rookie Halapoulivaati Vaitai directly at RT.
