Philly airport to bring back direct flights to Mexico City this summer

Aeroméxico will start offering nonstop flights from Philadelphia International Airport to Mexico City on June 5 to meet growing demand. The Philly airport has not had direct flights to the Mexican capital since January 2019. Since 2014, air traffic from Philadelphia to destinations in Mexico has increased by 8.3% annually, airport officials said.

ReAnimator Coffee's Saquon Barkley-inspired blend raises money for Philly schools

ReAnimator Coffee is following its tradition for Eagles Super Bowl runs with a new 'Rusher's Roast Blend' inspired by star running back Saquon Barkley. The coffee is a medium roast breakfast blend with hints of brown sugar and fruit. It's being sold online and at ReAnimator's five cafes in Philadelphia. Proceeds will go to the Fund for the Schools District of Philadelphia. In years past, ReAnimator has made special blends for Nick Foles and Jalen Hurts.

Gillie Da Kid is the latest Philly rapper to embrace role as Eagles hype man during run to the Super Bowl

Philadelphia-born rapper and "Million Dollaz Worth of Game" podcast host Gillie Da Kid has emerged as the Eagles' hype man during the team's Super Bowl run this season. He follows in the footsteps of Meek Mill and Lil Uzi Vert, two rappers and Philly natives who have helped set the tone for the Eagles during past seasons. Gillie has been promoting fellow rapper Too Short's 2006 hit "Blow The Whistle" as the team's playoff anthem.

M. Night Shyamalan cleared in $81 million lawsuit alleging 'Servant' used stolen premise

Director M. Night Shyamalan has been cleared by a federal jury in a lawsuit that alleged his Apple TV series 'Servant,' filmed in Philadelphia, stole plot elements from the 2013 independent film 'The Truth About Emanuel.' Shyamalan, Apple and others had been sued by filmmaker Francesca Gregorini, who sought $81 million in damages.

Eagles fans can take the Broad Street Line for free after NFC championship game

Fans attending the NFC Championship game between the Eagles and Washington Commanders can take SEPTA's Broad Street Line home for free. DraftKings is covering the costs of the fares. About 30,000 fans are expected to use the subway to get to Lincoln Financial Field. Traffic and parking restrictions will be in place after the game.

Two Philly sports pubs set the record straight: We're not Commanders bars

As the Eagles prepare for Sunday's NFC title game against the Commanders, two Philly bars are telling Washington fans not to listen to misleading information online that they are welcoming to supporters of the NFC East rivals. Bayou Bar & Grill in Manayunk is recommended on the Commanders website as a place for their fans to watch games, but the owner said his business has always been an Eagles bar. And in South Philly, Woolly Mammoth distanced itself from its former reputation as a bar that caters to Washington fans.

Wildwood to add barriers, cameras and better lighting to protect visitors to its boardwalk next summer

Wildwood's new boardwalk security initiative includes adding surveillance cameras, more lighting and safety barriers to block cars from entering pedestrian areas. City officials said the improvements are intended to protect the public against crime and terrorism. Bollards will be installed to block cars from entering the boardwalk at various access points and ramps to deter vehicle-ramming attacks, the city said.

A third of Eagles-Commanders tickets sold so far on StubHub were bought in D.C. area, resale company says

Tickets for the Eagles-Commanders NFC championship game at Lincoln Financial Field are averaging $1,374 on secondary markets ahead of Sunday's game, according to ticket exchange platform Victory Live. The average is the NFL's highest for a non-Super Bowl game. StubHub data shows about one-third of tickets sold on its platform were bought by people in the Washington D.C. area, the resale company said.

The 2025 James Beard Award semifinalists include more than a dozen restaurants or chefs in Philadelphia. Chef Greg Vernick is up for Outstanding Chef, and Fishtown Thai restaurant Kalaya is in the running for Outstanding Restaurant. Finalists will be revealed on April 2, followed by the Restaurant and Chef Awards in Chicago on June 16.
