A 17-year-old boy is reportedly in "extremely critical" condition after being shot multiple times late Sunday night in South Philadelphia, NBC10 reports.

Police transported the teen to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center from the scene of the drive-by shooting at Moore and South Hollywood streets. Police said he was struck seven times.

There is no word on whether the shooting was targeted. Police are currently investigating the incident.

6ABC reported that witnesses claim to have spotted a dark-colored vehicle fleeing the scene after the gunfire erupted.
