Morandini gives Conly a replacement baseball for the one he lost many a few decades ago.

Staff Sergeant Tony Conly is a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard from Northeast Philadelphia who plans to finish out a 20-year career in the military. He’s also a huge Phillies fan.

As a 10-year-old, Conly’s father took him to his first MLB game at Veterans Stadium, where the Phils were taking on the Pittsburgh Pirates. After the game, they waited by the fence near where the players exited the stadium. On that day, a young Conly received a signed baseball from second baseman Mickey Morandini.

Being young at the time, Conly naturally lost that baseball fairly soon. So on FOX 29’s Good Day Philadelphia, Morandini (now the Phillies first base coach) surprised Conly and gave him a new autographed baseball and a trip to Phillies Phantasy Camp in Clearwater next month.
