Amazon Prime Day: A 'Black Friday' in July

Amazon turns 20 on Wednesday and to celebrate, the company has introduced Prime Day, a global shopping event offering more deals than Black Friday, exclusively for Prime members.

Prime Day

Starting at midnight Pacific Time on Wednesday (3 a.m. here in Philly), shoppers in the U.S. will find special deals, with new ones starting as often as every 10 minutes. Members can shop thousands of exclusive deals from electronics, toys, video games, movies, clothing, patio, lawn and garden, sports, outdoor items and more.

The company is also offering unlimited fast, free shipping.

“Prime Day is a one-day-only event filled with more deals than Black Friday, exclusively for Prime members around the globe. Members tell us every day how much they love Prime and we will keep making it better,” said Greg Greeley, Vice President Amazon Prime. “If you’re not already a Prime member, you’ll want to join so you don’t miss out on one of the biggest deals extravaganzas in the world.”

Prime members can shop on any device, including smartphones and tablets.
