A home in Northeast Philadelphia caught on fire after a car crashed into it late Sunday night, NBC10 reports.
A female driver lost control of her car around 11:30 p.m. in the city’s Rhawnhurst section. She was traveling along Benton Avenue when she slammed into a home along Bustleton Avenue, according to Philadelphia police.
The driver was pulled from the wreckage and taken to a nearby hospital. Investigators said they suspected she was possibly drunk.
The 84-year-old man who owns the home was asleep in a back bedroom. He sustained minor injuries but was hospitalized as a precaution.
The man reportedly lost his wife to cancer last week.
