A winter storm will bring snow, sleet and rain to the Delaware Valley overnight and Saturday. Which of those degrees of moisture you see will depend on where you live.

A National Weather Service winter weather advisory is in effect till 8 a.m. Saturday.

The storm should begin as all snow by 2 a.m. Saturday for most of the region. (In Upper Dublin, Montgomery County, light snow started to fall shortly after 9 p.m.) The snow will become sleet, then rain overnight in most places to the southeast of the I-95 corridor. That same transition is likely in the city and along the corridor but with more sleet in the mix, and possibly some freezing rain. North and west of the city will see more snow.

Through Saturday morning and afternoon, we could see that transition in reverse, with rain turning to sleet, then all snow around 3 p.m., with new snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch.

The mix will keep snowfall amounts to 1-3 inches in the I-95 corridor and inch or less to the southeast, according to the National Weather Service.

Pedestrians and drivers are warned to use caution.

The Camden Health Department has issued a Code Blue severe weather advisory for Camden County, effective through 7 a.m. Monday.

“We need everyone to be sheltered and out of the elements during the severe weather.  Also, please remember to check on elderly relatives and neighbors and bring your pets indoors,” county officials said.

Sunday will be mostly sunny with a high around 40 before another low pressure system moves in from Canada overnight into Monday and brings a chance of more snow.

Cold high pressure will move over the area for the middle of next week, forecasters say.
