The event, dubbed the "Queer Rage(r): Guerrilla Dance Party," was organized on Facebook. Demonstrators were urged to participate by dancing outside the hotel to show support of health care laws that President Donald Trump has vowed to repeal. Trump is scheduled to arrive at the event on Thursday.

According to the event page, organizers said:

"Get ready to WERK it out. As they try to take away our health care, to police Black, Brown , Trans and Queer bodies, to regulate our bodies, we’re here to say #WeAreQueer #WeAreHere #WeWillDance"
