Report: Pa. teen who sang at Trump inauguration 'in talks' with White House on transgender rights meeting

Singer Jackie Evancho anticipates formal sit-down with president ‘toward the end of the month’

Pennsylvania teen Jackie Evancho, who sang at President Donald Trump's inauguration and whose sister is transgender, has reportedly been in talks with the White House regarding a formal sit-down with the president on transgender rights.

In an interview with TRIBLive, Evancho said she anticipates a meeting with Trump “toward the end of the month.”

The 16-year-old singer recently took to Twitter to share her disappointment over Trump’s retraction of Obama-era national bathroom protections for transgender students.

She also tweeted at Trump asking him to meet with her and her sister, Juliet, 18, one of the plaintiffs who recently won a temporary injunction in a federal lawsuit against a Pennsylvania school district regarding the bathroom rule.
