SEPTA stepping up police presence during peak student hours

SEPTA is stepping up its police presence during peak hours when students flood the system, CBS Philly reported.

Jerri Williams, SEPTA’s director of media relations, told CBS Philly reporter Jen Carabeo that about 100 extra officers will patrol various locations throughout the system during peak school arrival and dismissal times.

SEPTA also is launching an initiative highlighting the dangers of distracted commuting.

The initiative, called “Stay Back From The Edge,” will include an increased police presence on the Market-Frankford Line during the morning rush hours of 6:30 to 9:30 a.m.
