Eagles practice notes, August 20, 2015: The last day of practice notes!

Today will be the last practice notes post that you will read from me and the other Eagles writers this offseason. Tomorrow will be a mere walk-through for the players, and then after the Ravens game on Saturday, NFL rules revert back to the regular season practice schedule, which will not be open to the media. So drink it in, friends.

Random Eagles notes: DeMeco Ryans was a Kiko Alonso fan in 2013, and more

DeMeco Ryans said that he used to watch Kiko Alonso play his rookie season. At the time, Ryans was in his eighth year in the league, and was the most respected player in the Eagles locker room. For him to be impressed by (and specifically watch) a rookie playing the same position as him tells you how good Alonso was in 2013.

Marcus Smith injures hamstring, will have MRI

Eagles OLB Marcus Smith injured his hamstring today during special teams drills, and will have an MRI tomorrow, per a team source. The Eagles were short on depth at outside linebacker before training camp even began, but after losing Travis Long for the season with a torn ACL, and now potentially Smith for a period of time, the Eagles' depth on the edge will be tested further.
