If Philly hits 100 degrees next week, it would be the first time it reached that mark since 2012

Philadelphia is expected to get hot weather in the coming days with temperatures pushing toward 100 degrees by early next week, according to the National Weather Service. The city has only hit 100 degrees eight times since 2000, and hasn't reached the century mark in June since 1994. The sudden rise in temperatures comes after the city had unseasonably cool weather over Father's Day weekend.

Man convicted of killing, dismembering transgender woman whose remains were found in Schuylkill River in 2020

Akhenaton Jones, 41, has been found guilty of killing 27-year-old transgender woman Dominique 'Rem’mie' Fells at his home in West Philadelphia in June 2020. Fells was fatally stabbed, dismembered and dumped into the Schuylkill River. Jones' first trial in December ended in a hung jury. He will be sentenced to life in prison.

A New Jersey Supreme Court ruling will allow the state to advance its grand jury investigation into decades of clergy abuse, ending a seven-year legal battle that had been secretly mounted by the Diocese of Camden in South Jersey.

Mural of Eagles' Super Bowl LIX win goes up at Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame

A new mural recognizing the Eagles' Super Bowl LIX victory has been painted on the wall of the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame on Grant Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia. The mural by artist David McShane joins two other murals, including one for the Eagles team that won Super Bowl LII in 2018. The new mural features Jalen Hurts' TD pass to DeVonta Smith and other key moments from the team's 40-22 blowout of the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Phillies and Philadelphia Soccer 2026 are hosting a block party outside Citizens Bank Park on Sunday, June 22, to build excitement for next year's busy summer calendar that includes the MLB All-Star Game and World Cup matches at Lincoln Financial Field. The free block party will feature food trucks, a beer garden, music and skills challenges for baseball and soccer fans.

Man impersonated ICE agent during robbery at Northeast Philly business, police say

Philadelphia police are searching for a suspect who impersonated an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent during a robbery at a car repair shop in Mayfair on Sunday. The suspect zip-tied a woman at the business and stole $1,000 in cash before fleeing in a white van, police said. Authorities are still searching for the suspect.

Jack Ciattarelli wins New Jersey Republican primary for governor

In the New Jersey primary for governor, Jack Ciattarelli is projected to win the race and advance to the general election in November to face Democratic U.S. Rep. Mikie Sherrill. The former state Assemblyman was endorsed by President Donald Trump. He was among five Republicans running for the nomination. Results from the election will be updated lave as they are available.

Mikie Sherrill earns victory in New Jersey Democratic primary for governor

U.S. Rep. Mikie Sherrill is the projected winner of Tuesday's Democratic primary election for New Jersey governor, according to the Associated Press. Sherill defeated five other Democrats in the race and will now face Republican former state Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli in the November general election.

76ers, Comcast Spectacor choose architects for new South Philly arena

The Philadelphia 76ers and Comcast Spectacor have chosen renowned architecture firm Populous and local firm Moody Nolan to team up on the new arena planned for the Sixers and Flyers at the Sports Complex in South Philadelphia. The project is targeted for completion in 2031. The Sixers and Comcast Spectacor agreed to be 50-50 partners in the new arena after the Sixers dropped previous plans to construct their own venue in Center City.
