Kim Jones was murdered on January 13th, 2015.

Police sources say a co-worker has confessed to killing Kim Jones, the Philadelphia woman shot to death while waiting for a bus in North Philadelphia last month, NBC10 reports

Jones, 56, was standing at the corner of 12th and Jefferson streets on Jan. 13 when the suspect, Randolph Sanders, 36, approached her and allegedly shot her in the back of the head.

Police sources told NBC10 that Sanders confessed to the crime on Sunday and said his motive was that he thought Jones would fire him once she found out he was misappropriating funds at Turning Points for Children, a nonprofit organization that provides family services where they both worked.

Turning Points for Children released the following statement:

Through this entire investigation we worked closely with the Philadelphia Police Department and are relieved that they have found her killer, but devastated by the discovery. Turning Points for Children is working to understand why this tragedy occurred, and fully cooperating with authorities. Additionally, we will begin conducting our own internal investigation.
