Two teens were arrested on Friday in connection with a string of robberies in the vicinity of Temple University during the month of May.
17-year-old Dashaun Harden and 16 year old Bryant Anthony have been charged as adults for their involvement in multiple robberies that occurred between May 14 and May 20.
Dashaun Harden is charged with Robbery, Theft, Terroristic Threats, Simple Assault and related offenses, while Bryant Anthony is charged with: Robbery, Criminal Conspiracy and related offenses.
The Philadelphia Police Department describes six of the incidents as follows.
On May 14, 2015, at 10:35 PM, Harden and Anthony allegedly approached a male victim on the 1400 block of Willington Street and asked, “Where can I catch the subway?” The complainant said that the offender walked with him onto the 1600 block of Willington Street, where one of the suspects pulled a handgun demanding his property. After taking the complainant’s iPhone, he fled and was last seen south on Willington Street.
On May 15, 2015, at 11:45 PM, three complainants were approached by a black male suspect who was armed with a handgun demanding money. After taking one of the complainant’s back packs, the suspect fled and was last seen east on Cecil B. Moore Avenue from 18th Street.
On May 19, 2015, at 11:00 PM, another complainant was sitting on his steps on the 16xx block of Willington Street when an unknown black male pointed a handgun at him demanding his cellphone. After taking the complainant’s iPhone he fled in an unknown direction.
On May 19, 2015, at 12:23 AM, a complainant was on his steps on the 15xx block of West Master Street when an unknown male approached him, pointed a handgun, and demanded his cell phone. After taking the complainant’s cellphone the suspect fled an was last seen north on 15th Street on a red bicycle.
On May 20, 2015, at 9:55 PM, two complainants were on the 1700 block of North 18th Street when two black males approached them. One of the males pointed a black handgun at them stating, “Give me your phones and wallets”. After taking the complainants’ phones and wallets, the suspects fled south on 18th Street.
On May 20, 2015, at 10:00 PM, the complainant was on the 1600 block of North Sydenham Street when he was approached by three unknown black males armed with a handgun. After taking the complainant’s wallet and iPhone the suspects fled in an unknown direction.
