Olympic gold medalist Carli Lloyd hosts local soccer camp

The Delran native will run a day of drills for future star athletes

Two-time Olympic gold medalist Carli Lloyd is currently gearing up for the FIFA Women's World Cup in Canada, a month-long battle, alongside the U.S. Women's National Team. But when she's done, the Delran native is returning home.

Well, close to home.

Lloyd will host a one-day soccer camp in Medford, New Jersey, on Saturday, July 18. The training program is open to students ages 9 to 18 and promises to show young athletes the skills that turned her into a star center midfielder.

Between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., students will learn everything from foot skills and shooting to mental toughness and nutrition. Of course, there will be time for photos and autographs.

The camp is only open to 100 registrants, so hopefuls should sign up early.
