Quick Sip beer delivery adds growlers to the menu

Yes, you can now get fresh beer delivered like milk

Quick Sip, the beer delivery service from the owners of Hawthornes Cafe, made waves last year when they began delivering craft beer to Center City and beyond. As one would expect, their ability to bring up to two six-packs (or 192 oz. per transaction) to your front door was a huge hit. Now, they're adding growlers to their delivery menu.

That's right, now you can order beer for delivery, freshly poured into a 64 oz. growler.

As Philly.com's Michael Klein reports, the growlers are filled at Hawthornes with one of three varieties: Tired Hands Saison Hands, Half Acre Daisy Cutter or Tired Hands Hop Hands. However, at press time, only Saison Hands and Daisy Cutter were available via the online ordering system. Eventually, they'll expand to eight varieties.

Saison Hands fills for $15 and Daisy Cutter fills for $14; if you need a new growler you'll have to pay $4.99. But if you do have one, you can exchange it for free once your beer is delivered. Yes, as Hawthornes owner Chris Fetfatzes told Klein, it's just like old-fashioned milk bottle home delivery.

Delivery runs 11 a.m.-11 p.m.
