Run a 5-mile race through Valley Forge National Historical Park

Race through history

The Valley Forge Revolutionary 5-Mile Run returns on Sunday, April 17, for the 11th year at Valley Forge National Historical Park. Registration for the event is currently open.

Choose to race 5 miles or walk a 3-mile course, where walkers can bring their dogs on leashes. Kids who want to join in can opt for the Young Patriots Fun Run.

This year, the Revolutionary Run celebrates Valley Forge's 40th year as a national historical park. Before, it was considered only a state park.

Back in the winter of 1777, George Washington's Continental Army set up camp at Valley Forge. The army battled harsh conditions for six months to emerge as a strong, united force. To commemorate the soldiers, the area became a historic landscape.

Visitors can find reconstructed Muhlenberg Brigade HutsWashington's headquarters, rows of cannons and many memorials to the Continental Army amongst the greenery.

The race course will wind past some of those sites and along different trails in the park.

All proceeds from registration fees will benefit Valley Forge National Historical Park.
