South Jersey man charged with beating 7-week-old daughter

Prosecutors say infant suffered substantial facial bruising

A South Jersey man has been accused of assaulting his 7-week-old daughter, prosecutors announced Tuesday.

According to authorities, Sebastion Trump of Paulsboro has been arrested after his child was taken to Cooper Medical Center Saturday with substantial facial bruising.

Prosecutors say the girl's mother was not home when the infant suffered the injury. Medical staff at Cooper reported the incident to law enforcement.

The child remains in the hospital under the care of Cooper staff as well as the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency.

Trump, 21, has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and aggravated assault. He was taken to Salem County Jail in default of $50,000 bail.
