Eagles appear to highly value pass breakups from defensive backs

Back in April, prior to the 2015 NFL Draft, Eagles quasi-GM Ed Marynowitz laid out how the Eagles value in draft prospects, from a big-picture level, in three parts. Those three parts were height-weight-speed, position specifics, and character. On the "position specifics" front, evidence would clearly indicate that the Eagles prioritize defensive backs who get their hands on the ball.

Random Eagles notes: Eagles pass on supplemental draft

The Eagles passed on all seven of the players eligible to selected in the supplemental draft, most notably Clemson OT Isaiah Battle. We covered Battle and his potential fit with the Eagles a few weeks ago. Instead, it was the St. Louis Rams, who have used a staggering eight picks (and eight more than the Eagles) on offensive linemen the last two years (sorted by round).

DeMarco Murray was ranked as the 4th-best player in the NFL by his peers in the NFL's Top 100 list. Previously, Eagles RB/returner Darren Sproles came in at number 81, and OLB Connor Barwin was listed at 58th, and Jason Peters ranked 40th.
