Potential chemical contamination at Bartram's Garden prompts investigation, closure of pedestrian trail

Bartram's Garden officials closed the Bartram's Mile Trail after learning about the potential hazardous chemical contamination at the botanic garden this week. The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection is testing the area for toxic compounds. A visitor reported the potential contamination to state and city officials in April but no action was taken until July 15.
