Carrying on Philadelphia’s centuries-old reputation as a great beer city, Yards Brewing Company attracts beer aficionados who appreciate high-quality, artisan brews.

Great American Brewery Runs' 5,000 Yards Dash will return to Yards Brewing Co. in October. The race, which is a little less than 3 miles, will begin at Yards and wind along Delaware Avenue and Penn's Landing, before finishing back at the brewery.

Across the finish line will be a post-race party with food trucks and beer. All 21-plus finishers will receive one free Yards beer.

Online registration for the short run will open at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 4.

Last year, the race sold out more than a month before race day.

To sign up before anyone else, Philadelphians can head to Yards on Tuesday, May 2, from 5-7 p.m. There will be a pre-registration party.

All race participants will receive a beer glass and a metal coaster with bottle opener.
