Open thread recap: Washington 27, Eagles 17

The Philadelphia Eagles will kick off their 2019 season at 1:00 p.m. today against the Washington Football Team, as they try to get back to the playoffs for the fourth straight season.

As usual, the Eagles have more than their share of injuries, and the season hasn't even begun yet. The Football Team team, meanwhile, is in decent shape injury-wise heading into Week 1. You can find the final Eagles-Football Team injury report here.

As we noted in our five matchups to watch, the strength of Washington's team is up front on defense, with a defensive line that is both extremely talented, and deep. That's especially concerning for an Eagles offensive line that has already lost a pair of starters for the season. Otherwise, this Football Team roster is bad. It will be alarming if the Eagles cannot overcome a potential DL-OL matchup deficiency, and overwhelm them in other ways.
