East Passyunk block party to feature car show, shopping, live music

2016 marks the street festival's 11th year

On July 31, the 11th Annual East Passyunk Car Show and Street Festival will return to the neighborhood. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the car show will be on display, while the street festival will begin at 11 a.m.

More than 140 classic, vintage and custom cars, trucks and motorcycles will be parked along East Passyunk Avenue.

The festival will take place between Broad and Dickinson streets. At each block, a different DJ or live music group will be performing.

While strolling down the Avenue, attendees to the free festival will be able to stop for food, drinks and shopping. Find frozen whipped banana desserts, fresh squeezed lemonade, outdoor beer tubs and more to eat and drink.

As for shopping, there will be a craft show at the Singing Fountain, along with a few deals at neighborhood stores. Black Kat Kollectibles Vintage Shop will be throwing a retro fest.

Kids in attendance will have their own free Kid Zone, with face painting, a moon bounce, circus performers, games, arts & crafts and other activities.

If the weather doesn't cooperate on July 31, then the outdoor festival will be held on Aug. 7.
