Man caught on camera stealing Christmas tree in South Philly

Police say this screenshot from surveillance footage shows a suspect taking a Christmas tree from outside a residence on the 1100 block of Fitzgerald Street around 5 a.m. on Sat., Dec. 9.

Too bad there was no Cindy Lou Who to catch this South Philly Christmas tree snatcher in the act.

Police say the suspect was observed on surveillance footage taking the tree from outside the victim's residence on the 1100 block of Fitzgerald Street around 5 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9.

While a second suspect served as a lookout, the main perpetrator didn't stop at the tree. He can be seen on camera taking two more small Christmas trees and two window plants from the house.

Police say the thief fled in an unknown direction. You can watch surveillance video of the theft below.
