Five players who impressed at Eagles training camp, five who didn't

The Philadelphia Eagles will conclude training camp Tuesday morning, or at least the portion of training camp that the media is allowed to watch. They still have one more practice to go, but since it'll be a lame "10-10-10 practice," and thus not likely to be opinion-changing in any way, let's take a look at five players who impressed this camp, and five who did not.

You can go ahead and get excited about Eagles rookie TE Dallas Goedert

In the Philadelphia Eagles' first preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, rookie tight end Dallas Goedert made his rookie debut, and he didn't disappoint. On the night, Goedert had 4 catches for 64 yards and a TD, all in the first half, before earning a seat with the cool kids in the second half.

Eagles training camp practice observations, Day 14

The Philadelphia Eagles conducted their 14th of 15 training camp practices on Monday, and they were forced inside the team's practice bubble for the first time all camp, due to heavy rainfall. As always, we have notes.

Eagles training camp practice observations, Day 13

We are nearing the end of Philadelphia Eagles training camp (or at least the portion we're allowed to watch, anyway), as we've reached Day 13. Only two days to go. As always, we have notes.

Carson Wentz has better velocity now than he did in previous seasons

Arm strength has always been one of Carson Wentz's strengths, and it was perhaps logical to expect that the velocity on his throws would dip a bit, simply because he is still rehabbing his torn ACL and LCL, suffered in December of last year. That has not been the case. In fact, according to data the Eagles use that tracks such things, Wentz is throwing with more velocity than he was in 2016 or 2017.

Eagles sign QB Christian Hackenberg

Just when you thought the Eagles' roster couldn't get any better, they went and signed quarterback Christian Hackenberg. Howie Roseman strikes gold again!

On Saturday, the Philadelphia Eagles wrapped up their second of two practices at Lincoln Financial Field, that are open to the fans. As always, we have notes.

Redskins rookie RB Derrius Guice out for season with torn ACL

This loss will sting the Redskins, a team with a good offensive line that previously lacked a quality early down back to run behind it. The Redskins hoped Guice would help significantly improve their 28th ranked rushing offense of a year ago, but they'll have to wait until next season to see any return on their investment in him.

Eagles' starting defense dominant in first preseason game, with gifs and stuff

The Steelers were playing without Ben Roethlisberger, Le'Veon Bell, and Antonio Brown, so you don't want to make too much of the Eagles' starters' defensive performance, but it was certainly a good sign for a unit whose last impression was not a great one.

Shelton Gibson shows why the Eagles drafted him on first big play as professional receiver

During the Philadelphia Eagles' 2017 training camp, Shelton Gibson couldn't catch the football. Barring some camp bodies over the years, he had, in my view, one of the worst training camp performances I have ever seen since I've been covering the team.
