A Philadelphia jury has found Kathryn Knott guilty of simple assault and conspiracy to commit simple assault against Zachary Hesse, one of two victims in the Sept. 11, 2014 beating in Center City. Knott was also found guilty of reckless endangerment against both Hesse and his partner, Andrew Haught.

The jury in the assault trial of Kathryn Knott wrapped up a second day of deliberations Thursday without a verdict. Knott, 25, of Upper Southampton, is the last of three defendants to face charges in the Center City beatings of Andrew Haught and his partner, Zachary Hesse. She faces charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, conspiracy and reckless endangerment. Prosecutors allege Knott hit Hesse and spewed homophobic slurs when a group of 15 of her friends encountered the couple at 16th and Chancellor streets.

Kathryn Knott testified at her trial on Tuesday that she did not strike anyone or use homophobic language on the night two men were beaten in Center City last year. Knott, 25, of Upper Southampton, is among a trio of defendants charged in the beatings of Haught and his partner, Zachary Hesse, as they walked to get pizza in Center City on Sept. 11, 2014. Kevin Harrigan and Williams pleaded guilty earlier this year to assault and conspiracy charges and were sentenced to probation and 200 hours of community service at an LGBT Center. Knott is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, conspiracy and reckless endangerment for her alleged role in the beatings.

Kathryn Knott, 25, of Upper Southampton, Bucks County, faces charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, conspiracy and reckless endangerment for her alleged role in beating two gay men near 16th and Chancellor streets on Sept. 11, 2014. According to police, Knott and two others were coming from dinner at La Viola West when they allegedly confronted Hesse and Haught. Hesse has testified in earlier hearings in the case that the trio called them homosexual slurs and beat them. Haught sustained two broken cheekbones and a broken jaw.
