Police are searching for a female suspect after she allegedly shot and killed a man in North Philadelphia early Friday morning, CBSPhilly reports.
An 18-year-old man was shot twice, in the chest and abdomen, just after midnight outside a home on the 1900 block of N. Croskey St., police said.
The man's family was able to bring him inside the home until medics transported him to Temple Hospital in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead.
Witnesses described the shooter as a female, 18 to 20 years old, wearing blue jeans. She was last seen heading north on foot on Croskey Street.
The woman allegedly got into a fight with other women earlier that night. Witnesses told police she later returned to the scene, where she began firing shots.
“The only ballistic evidence we have is one projectile that is on the sidewalk in front of the victim’s house where he was shot,” Chief Inspector Scott Small told CBSPhilly.
The identity of the victim was not immediately released.
The shooting remains under investigation.
